Why give to the xTexas Trail Project?
The mission of the xTexas Trail Project (the xTx) is to create a first of its kind 1,550-mile legacy trail across the state of Texas for hiking, biking, and horse riding for the public.
The draft route has been mapped. The trail begins at the Louisiana border at Quicksand Creek in the East and ends in El Paso in the West. We’ve designed the trail to meander through some of the most remote, rugged, and romantic parts of the state. The trail weaves together quiet back-country public roads, trails, community parks, state parks, national parks, and will eventually include access across public land.
The xTx is designed to be a seasonal trail to travel in late fall, winter, and early spring.
This is a big legacy project with many pieces that need to fit together to create a successful trail.

Our fiscal goal for our July ‘25 - July ‘26 budget is to raise the funds to design and create 20 complete “xTx Watering Holes” and 80 “water only” stations along the xTx route.
The grand total we need to raise to design, build, install, and manage these stations is $362,500. See below for a breakdown of our budget.
We’ve already raised 11% of this! Can you help?
